I have been such a pig the past few days. And I can say its the whole holiday party things fault (ok partly mine.. but I made an effort). I had a holiday party for work on Friday night. We went to an Italian restaurant. I got chicken parm because it was the only thing not made with a cream type sauce, just tomato. And for dessert I got strawberry sorbet.. everyone else got cake. I did good there.
This weekend my hubby and I went on a little road trip. We ate breakfast out, I had a sausage mcmuffin at mcdonalds. For lunch we had hamburgers at Ruby Tuesday. and dinner steak. I am happy to report though we took a nice 6 mile bike ride at a local state park through the nature trails (meaning not easy peddaling.. all grass roads and such.. and not to mention the bikes were like 4o years old and kinda rusty.. lol). And then we went on two very long walks. So at least I got to work out and burn some of those calories on saturday.
Today I had half an omelet and home fries. And for lunch chicken tenders and a fry from burger king. Since I ate so bad I am sticking to salad and chicken noodle soup for dinner. No exercise today.. we have been riding in the car for hours now
My hubby and I are planning on buying bikes for ourselves for christmas. That way we can do a long bike ride everynight.
How is everyone else doing this holiday season? Anyone else feel blah like me.. and sick of eating crappy crap.. but have no choice =P

I have been doing ok with trying to diet, cutting back on a few things here and there, lowfat this and fat free that, one of my main problems right now is, I love to eat salads and was eating them about everyday but have been afraid to eat my usual because of the outbreaks here lately with Lettuce and Spinach Dangit, It is very scary! :oWhen our foods we buy that are healthy can make us very ill. Did you hear what happened to those people who ate at Taco bell? not that I eat there maybe twice a year, but still, I'll be glad when this Madness is over.

I knew there was a problem with spinach for a while (and I was soooo glad when it was put back on the shelves) but I hadn't heard about lettuce or Taco Bell. We usually buy field greens instead of iceberg lettuce anyway (more nutrients).
One hint that I remember reading somewhere is to fill your plate with the better choices first. After that if you're still hungry you can go back for small bits of the not-so-good choices.
